This vaccine is mainly used for immunization of pregnant sows to confer passive immunity to their piglets; it can also be used for active immunization of pigs of all ages. Protective immunity develops 14 days after active vaccination, with an immune duration of 6 months. The passive immune period for piglets covers the entire lactation period until the 7th day after weaning.
Administer by injection at the Houhai acupoint (the depression between the tail root and anus). The needle insertion depth ranges from 0.5 cm to 4 cm according to pig age: 0.5 cm for 3-day-old piglets, increasing gradually with age, and 4 cm for adult pigs. Keep the needle parallel or slightly upward to the rectum during injection.
Pregnant sows: 4 mLper dose, administered 20–30 days before farrowing.
Piglets delivered by immunized sows: 1 mLper dose within 7 days after weaning.
Piglets weighing less than 25 kg: 1 mLper head.
